The aim of Biosafety Consult is to disseminate the knowledge and competencies on management of biological risks to companies, individuals and governmental organisations.

Due to these services, a company will comply with the rules of occupational and environmental care.
Biological risks due to occupation may occur as a consequence of exposition to micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses, yeasts, fungi and parasites and to animals. If these organisms are genetically modified en if they can reach the environment outside the building in which they are kept, there may be an environmental risk.
As an individual you can be exposed to pathogenic micro-organisms by infected food and water and polluted air. Normally this will not be a risk, because you have a good resistance against infections.
The personnel of Biosafety Consult consists of mrs. A. (Diny) van Faassen, certified occupational hygienist and biosafety officer. Moreover, several freelancers are engaged.
Biosafety Consult cooperates with bacteriologists and virologists
of the Department of Microbiology of the Maastricht University.
